Aftercare
Jorge will apply a transparent protective film (such as Second Skin or Saniderm) over your tattoo at the end of your session. This bandage acts as a barrier against bacteria and helps create a moist environment for proper healing.

Initial Care:
-
Keep the Bandage On: Leave the bandage on for 3-5 days after your tattoo session. This helps protect the tattoo from bacteria and allows it to heal in a moist environment.
-
Remove Carefully: After the initial time, gently remove the bandage. If it feels stuck, you can wet it slightly to make removal easier.

If you observe any redness, rash, or irritation under the bandage, gently remove the bandage immediately.

Cleaning:
-
Wash Gently: Use mild, unscented soap to clean the tattooed area. Do this using lukewarm water and your hands, avoiding washcloths or sponges that may irritate the skin.
-
Pat Dry: After washing, gently pat the area dry with a clean, soft towel. Avoid rubbing the tattoo.

Moisturizing:
-
Apply Lubriderm: Once the tattoo is dry, apply a thin layer of Lubriderm or another fragrance-free moisturizer. Ensure it's a light application—too much product can suffocate the skin.
-
Frequency: Moisturize 2-3 times a day for the first week or until the tattoo is fully healed.

General Care:
-
Avoid Soaking: During the healing process (typically 2-4 weeks), avoid soaking the tattoo in water (e.g., baths, pools, hot tubs).
-
Sun Protection: Keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight or apply a high-SPF sunscreen after it has fully healed to prevent fading.

Itching and Peeling:
-
Don’t Scratch: It’s normal for the tattoo to itch as it heals, but avoid scratching or picking at any scabs that form.
-
Continue Moisturizing: Keep applying Lubriderm to help alleviate dryness and itching.

Extra Tips for Active Lifestyles & Vacations

For Sports, Dance, and Workouts:
-
Avoid intense physical activity for the first 10–14 days. Excessive sweating and friction can irritate the healing tattoo.
-
Keep it clean and dry after any light activity. If you sweat, gently wash the area with mild soap and lukewarm water, then pat dry.
-
Avoid tight clothing that may rub against the tattoo while moving.
-
Be mindful of contact surfaces — gym equipment, mats, or dance floors can carry bacteria. Always keep your tattoo covered if you’re in these environments.
For Sunny Vacations:
-
No direct sun exposure on your tattoo until it is fully healed (about 4–6 weeks). Sunburn will damage the healing skin and fade the ink.
-
No swimming in pools, hot tubs, oceans, or lakes until the tattoo is fully healed. These environments can cause infections or fading.
-
Cover your tattoo with loose, breathable clothing if you’ll be outdoors.
-
After it’s healed, always apply sunscreen (SPF 30+) to protect the tattoo and keep the colors vibrant long-term.

Final Tips
-
Monitor Healing: If you notice excessive redness, swelling, or any signs of infection (pus, fever), contact your tattoo artist or a healthcare professional.
-
Patience is Key: Remember that healing can take several weeks, and it's essential to stick to your aftercare routine for the best results.

Following these steps will help ensure your tattoo heals beautifully!
